BUILT AROUND SERVICE DELIVERY
IT support for NDIS providers
Keep participant records current, workforce access controlled and essential information available wherever support is delivered.
You should not have to explain NDIS service delivery to your IT provider
Resetting an account does not address broad access to participant records. An NDIS provider should not have to explain why workers need access in homes and community settings without seeing information outside their support.
Providers hold participant records, consent, support plans, rosters, complaints and incident reports. Workers may spend the day away from the office or coordinate services across locations. Information must remain current without becoming visible across the organisation.
WHERE IT SHOWS UP IN PRACTICE
Current information.
Where support happens.
01
The record used in the home
A worker in a participant’s home may need the latest support plan and progress notes over an unfamiliar connection. If copies sit in email, downloads and shared folders, opening one is easy. Knowing it is approved and attributing today’s note correctly is harder.
02
The complete incident trail
The participant may be safe while the incident register stops at the first report. Investigation, follow-up actions, communication and outcome must remain connected to the original incident. If they sit in individual mailboxes, the record no longer shows the complete response.
03
Workforce access changes
Workers join, move between participants, change responsibilities or leave. Removing one Microsoft 365 account may not close every device, application and downloaded file. Broad access may expose participant information beyond a worker’s current role.
04
Continuity beyond the office
If the office connection, phones or a central system fails, support may continue elsewhere. Recovery must restore communication and current information in the order workers need it, with later records connected to the interruption.
THE TECHNOLOGY AROUND THE SERVICE
The service does not stop at the platform.
Some NDIS IT providers began by implementing rostering, participant-management or service-delivery software. They can be strong on forms and workflows because the product was their starting point.
Workers still need accounts, phones, laptops, mobile access, networks and Microsoft 365. Supportdesk owns those foundations and works with the software vendor when its product is involved.
Most of what goes wrong for an NDIS provider was never about the participant-management application at all.
HOW WE WORK WITH NDIS PROVIDERS
Support the technology behind service delivery.
Through Managed IT Services, Supportdesk takes on support, devices and workforce access. We manage Microsoft 365 for email and participant documents, with account and device protection through Cyber Security & Compliance.
Offices and service locations remain part of Business Internet & Networks. We plan Backup & Disaster Recovery around participant records, incident information and the systems staff need to keep operating.
Our responsibility
Your organisation and advisers set the participant, safeguarding, incident and reporting requirements that apply. Our responsibility is making sure access, records and recovery support those requirements without getting in the way of the people delivering services.
WORTH A CONVERSATION
Which participant record should a worker open?
Ask a coordinator which copy of a participant record a new worker should open before the next visit. If the answer depends on who is on shift or which message they last received, that is a concrete place to start.
